The license system used by Gunbot is based around the Gunthy token which is technology used by the Ethereum or ERC20 blockchain. You must have a Wallet that is on this blockchain with the required amount of Gunthy tokens in it to validate your license. This is then tied to your API key. This gives you the ability once it has been initially setup to change your own exchange API’s without the involvement of your reseller or Gunthy staff. So lets set up the wallet so your Gunthy tokens can be airdropped to get you started.
Set Up Your Gunthy Wallet.
This can be done in any of the ledger devices (Nano S, X) or using Metamask or MyEtherWallet.
The setup for each type is slightly different but follows the same principle. For the Nano all you need is your etherum address the Nano will pick up it is a Gunthy token. For MyEtherWallet you will need to add a custom token with the below contract address using 18 decimal points. If you are uncertain how to do this Google or ask, no problem.
Use this contract address and 18 decimals
Set Up Your API
Now you need to log into your exchange and set up your API that will be used to tie your license to. This API is used by Gunbot to connect to the exchange and trade. Remember that once this is setup you can change exchange and API yourself so you have the complete flexibility to choose.
The API key should have read and trade access do not enable withdrawal access.
Some exchanges require a passphrase as well but you will be prompted for this if it is needed.
If you have a static IP address where your Gunbot will be running then you should add this to the whitelist which adds another level of security.
Now remember the API secret key is a private key. Never give this to anyone, never email it or never leave it where a hacker could get it.
Install API Keys into Gunbot
The next step now is to install the API key into your version of Gunbot.
Copy and paste the API Key into the master key and also the Key field. Do the same with the secret key. Your API key will be needed by your reseller to initially register your Gunbot. Send only the key not the secret.
To Change Exchanges
Make sure your Gunbot core is running with a registered API key.
Go to the exchanges tab and add in your new exchange API details adding both the key and the secret. Save your changes
Go to the edit License tab in Gunbot and select your new exchange and paste in the new key for that exchange.
You will now be up and running on your new exchange.
